Volunteer Application Form

School Year: 2025-2026

We are excited to pair you with students to read in South Lake Tahoe! This form is a way for us to collect your contact information and personal volunteering preferences. We are currently piloting this program at Tahoe Valley Elementary School on Tuesdays.

*Volunteers attend the same day/time each week to meet with the same students to build a life-changing relationship revolving around reading. Most volunteers opt for an hour a week, you're welcome to do more! If you're doing 1 hour a week- you'll read with 2 students, 30 minutes each.

Fall 2025

We are currently taking a waitlist for volunteers wishing to join us in the Fall of 2025. Please fill out the following form to add your name to the list. Volunteer training dates are sill to be determined.
Next year our goal is to expand the days that we are at Tahoe valley from one day per week to two days per week and also integrate our BookMode program into this site.

How often can you volunteer on TUESDAYS and/or THURSDAYS

Volunteers must commit to volunteer on Tuesdays and/or Thursdays, excluding school breaks for the full school year. We understand that there may be days where you need a substitute. Please notify us in advance when this is the case. Adult consistency is super important for children, so we do not allow single volunteer sessions. Reading mentor volunteers must commit for the school year.
